Dogs on North Myrtle Beach
Dogs in public must be on a leash at all times. No dogs are allowed on the beach from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. May 15-Sept. 15. 
 
Tents on Beach
Proposed ordinance states that tents, canopies, umbrellas (other then those owned by the City), pavilions, etc. cannot be put up before 8 AM and must be removed by 7 PM.  They must be lacated landward of the City's umbrella line or high tide mark and they must be 25 feet seaward of the dune line.  Maximum tent size is 12 feet by 12 feet or 144 square feet.  The maximum height is 9 feet installed.  
 
Shading devices must be 10 feet from lifeguard stands or towers and there must be at least 10 feet  between other shading devices on the beach.  No anchoring lines may extend beyond the perimeter of any shading device.  Tents left on the beach will be collected and stored by the City for 30 days and may be claimed during that time for a fee of $40.  
 
There will be a $250 fine for violations of the ordinance.
