The North Myrtle Beach City Council voted June 20, 2011 to annex 1,887 acres into the city limits.  The plan includes 140 acres for a new Sports Complex of eight multipurpose sports fields,  Amphitheater, Dog Park, and a Water Park.  The balance of the acreage will be zoned for single family homes, multifamily homes, and commercial development.  

 

North Myrtle Beach plans to open the Sports Complex and other features of the 140 acres within three years.  Property owners will see a small increase in their property tax but the increase is temporary.  See "Property Taxes" on this site for more information.
